Online communication is established between the Metro coach, Train Operator, Station In charge and Operations Control Centre at Uppal depot. Metro coaches are also equipped with a telephone facility to communicate with the Train Operator in case of any emergency.
For the prevention of crime, stations and peripheral areas of Metro Rail are installed with video cameras at all strategic locations except in areas where there is a "reasonable expectation of privacy" to monitor anti social activities, destruction to people & property and restriction of crime . A central control room with dedicated team of security personnel are deputed to check the departing and arriving activities in the station and peripheral areas of all Metro stations.

Additionally video cameras are installed at strategic locations within and outside the premises of Metro Rail stations. Baggage and personnel frisking is done to restrict entry of dangerous & disruptive items along with anti-social elements into the Metro stations.

Contactless Smart Card (CSC), a pre-paid fare media for journey between fixed set of stations and is a suitable option for non-frequent users. Contactless Smart Token (CST), a stored value card available either in monetary (e-Purse) or in non-monetary (Pass) or combination of both with various options suitable for regular and frequent users., Smart option for the ease of ticketing and ticket recharge facilities for commuters. Hyderabad Metro will provide online recharge facility for users of this smart and world-class public transport facility.
Station planning is influenced by normal passenger flow and emergency evacuation scenarios. All critical lifesaving facilities with relevant standards viz., fire protection, emergency lighting, Public Addressing (PA) and Public Information Display System ( PIDS), Public access telephones, Auto opening of ticketing gates, Sizing of the staircases are being provided at stations. Signages are designed, with instant message transfer to passengers, from street level guiding to concourse level and to platform level. Station Manager is located at convenient place with ease of access for instant helps. Ticketing Counters/Booths have been provided at all Stations along with Ticket Vending Machines making ticketing process simpler and faster. Facility of vending mineral water, cool drinks, coffee & tea are being provided at all Stations. First aid medical assistance is being provided at concourse level at all stations.
The Metro stations are divided into concourse level (non paid area) and platform level (paid area). Stations are tastefully designed reflecting local culture and flavour, functional aesthetics, user friendly, energy efficient and with architecture that is site specific. Stations are equipped with staircases & escalators for ease of access. State of art Railway engineering equipment are installed at concourse level for smooth Metro Rail operations and Passenger Safety.
Pedestrian facilities from the road to the concourse/car park and/or to the ticket counters and back have been provided to enable unhindered smooth flow of pedestrians using the Metro and making the commuting experience comfortable. Lifts and escalators are provided at Stations for the use of passengers including the physically challenged. The state-of-the-art coaches of Hyderabad Metro Rail are designed and manufactured by Hyundai Rotem, a South Korean company that specializes in the manufacture of rolling stock.
The ride on Hyderabad Metro offers maximum comfort. The coaches are designed ergonomically keeping aesthetics in mind and commuters can truly enjoy the journey.Trains will be air‐ conditioned with humidity Control throughout and will have designated space for differently abled persons. Each car will have longitudinal seats for approximately 40 persons with dedicated space to accommodate wheelchair (for people with reduced mobility). Each car is equipped with longitudinal Seats, Grab Poles and Rails for standing passengers. Every aspect is designed in detail for a comfortable commute. LCD screen displays dynamic route map indicated over all the doors and LCD TVs at suitable locations inside cars are provided for entertainment, information and advertisement. The cars are also equipped with mobile and Laptop Charging Points at accessible locations within each car.

The coaches are specification light weight stainless steel/Aluminium bodied three‐car formations, having a trailer car between two motored driving cars. The maximum capacity per three car train will be approximately 965 giving a high proportion of the floor area to standing passengers. Internal wide gangways will provide ease of passenger movement and assist load distribution. Safety of commuters and operations is paramount for Hyderabad Metro Rail and therefore the trains will have foolproof safety features and on‐board fire & smoke detection systems as well. Coaches will be air-conditioned with automatic door-closures and many other safety features. Having all salient features, it is aesthetics combined with comfort & safety which will win the metro‐user.
Modern Communication Based Train Control System (CBTCS) Technology offers a comfortable ride and can handle any emergencies.For the first in India Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), is adopted for Hyderabad Metro to control the trains. The trains running on three corridors will be controlled and monitored from Operation Control Centre (OCC) where the overview display panel will indicate current locations of all trains running on these corridors. With the help of CBTC technology, trains can run with a frequency of 90 Sec to transport commuters during peak hours. The trains can also run on Automatic Train Operation (ATO) mode. The Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system continuously monitors safe train operation.
Highest level of monitoring, controlling and command is provided by Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) technology where a centralised OCC (Operation Control Centre) located at Uppal Depot controls the entire Power Supply & Traction system.
